We're Moving =]

Will I abandon this place? This place which is my so-called sanctuary, will I leave this and never come back? Who knows? Perhaps I will when I’m done and ready to move on.

Over the months, this place has been the place where I let almost everything out. Due to some issues, I cannot rant about everything that happened in my daily live here. I don’t want to offend anybody online.

So through this page I have learnt a lot of things during my time as a blogger here, mostly about how to edit the page and such.

I am very thankful for the support that my readers have given me through their comments, thought I really wish that they would comment more often and avoid silent reading. Reading comments always make my day especially the ones by my close friend. Through comments, I can learn what my mistakes are and what the readers think about the post. People do comment, but most of the time they leave me messages like ‘leaving my mark to prove that I was here’ and not really commenting on the post. I don’t really like that a lot.

Anyway, it seems that I have strayed from my original point of this post. I have said earlier that I will leave this place once I am done and ready to move on.

Well, I am just that. I am done with this place and am ready to move on to some place new. I won’t be deleting this if some of you are thinking because I want this to be my own museum. A place where I can come back once in a while and re-read all the silly posts I’ve made.

This won’t be the end of my blogging days though, I’m just moving on from here to another place, like moving from one house to another.

I’ll see you guys in my new ‘home’ from now on. And no, this is not an early April Fool joke.

I can’t remember the rest of that dream though.

Really? No I mean really? People and civilization are growing smarter with the passing day but are they growing wiser? And so is the world growing older but something makes me feel that we will never learn. I have been wondering if that day will ever come. The day where all of us, the human race, are able to make mature and non-judgmental decisions, the day we are able to think without having other factors influencing us. Still, even with all of my doubts, I still believe such a day will arrive. It’ll take a while though.

No matter how much I wish to stop time and let myself be lost in that point of time, I cannot. I had imagined it myself so many times before where the Earth stops spinning, everything just stops at that point of day and we just get on with our happy selves until the end. I’ve always hoped for time to stop after it rains, right before the sun comes out; preferably in the early morning when the air is still cool and fresh, dew still clinging onto the tips of grass and leaves. How nice would that be?

I’m sure you get the whole idea of that few lines. It would be nice to be boss of things for a change, right? I mean after being bossed around for so long, it would be really nice to be the boss for a change. This is why I have considered staying single (well, at least for as long as I can). Being single, you are the boss of yourself. No one to tie you down with commitment, no one to be a burden to you and you can do whatever you want. I can decorate the house anyway I want, eat whatever and whenever I want and basically do anything that my heart desires. I can even get a pet, a dog or a cat, or I might end up getting both! Haha now that’s something to look forward to! kekeke

Will we still be the best of friends, when one is half way across the country or even further, half way across the world? We will definitely get busy with our own work and our own lives. Who can confidently say that their friendship will last till world’s end? I don’t even know when will I see my bunch of good friends all in one place again. All of us, in one room; this seems like such a dream to me now. It feels almost impossible to get us all into one room at the same time. Each of us will have our own life to attend to. True we say that we will be friends forever, but who are we to promise each other forever. We will all grow up; outgrow many things, including childish promises. Still, I am willing to be childish and keep that promise until my very end.

Today on Twitter, an unnie of mine shared this video and naturally I would click on the link and check it out. And it turns out to be this girl from UCLA in the US ranting about Asians and this guy sort of took her video and made a reply (this is one of my favourite replies)

Obviously I am offended that there are racist people who openly say things about other races. I mean, come on, I cannot deny that I am that bit racist, but I would think twice or maybe a few hundred times as to post a video of myself talking racist stuff on the web.

Lesson to be learnt, do not do stupid things and put them on the web, you’re only asking for trouble.

Like seriously, even for something as trivial as posting a blog post, even I put in a lot of thoughts before posting an entry. It's because we have to think about hurting or offending others before we post anything online. The Internet is a very public place and YT is an even more public place on the Net.

Seriously, I sure hope that this girl is ready for the consequences because from the reply videos I saw on YT just now, things aren't looking very bright for her. A lot of Asians are posting up a reply to her video and some aren't very happy while others are just stating their opinions and some facts.

My view in this?

Well, I think that she didn't put a lot of thought before posting that video on YT. She shouldn't have done that. Like, goodness, she's generalising the entire continent into a few examples. Who is she to say that? How many Asians does she know for her to generalise Asians?

Seriously, I don't know what is going to happen to her but I am very curious about it. I mean, come on, even a laid back person like me would get offended by what she said. And i'm not the kind of person to get offended easily.

Visual Dreams

All week, I have been trying my best to refrain from clicking at links the official Twitter account had posted about their event happening in the big city.

All week, I have been making a big fuss for not being able to attend that event.

And of all the days it had to start, it started on Kim Taeyeon’s birthday.

Numerous pictures were taken and were uploaded by the official account and links were posted up numerous times on Twitter. All week I have been controlling myself to not click on the links, in fear of myself getting too much of a heartache and being distracted from my assignments.

And now, I am at my breaking point.

Yesterday, the official account for Intel Malaysia posted on both Twitter and Facebook that their Visual Dreams dance competition has ended and the winner was announced. They posted a picture of the winner with her prize, an autographed Intel T-Shirt, signed by Kim Taeyeon herself. The butterfly signature was a dead giveaway.

And today, on Twitter, somebody posted a video of the finals of the dance competition. Visual Dreams was being blasted at the centre of the mall and the finalists were dancing to it on stage.

Prior the event; representatives of Intel were going all around the landmarks of KL like KLCC, Low Yat etc, giving out bookmarks. Then if you buy the March 9^th issue of The Star, you can redeem a SNSD Intel poster from them.

Life is so miserable T^T

One of my biggest regrets of blogging is for not posting anything special for this special day for a very special someone last year.

Today is the day where we SONEs celebrate the birthday of our beloved Kid Leader, Kim Taeyeon. She’s turning 22 (23 Korean age).

There are just too many things to list as to why SONEs love our leader so much.

I’ll just keep this post short and simple (perhaps with a few fun facts, videos and pictures haha)

Taeyeon used to chucked ice to the grass field in front of her apartment with her brother. And they competed who can throw the ice the farther, like icecubes. And during winter, when there are snow covering the grass field, they would try to draw something by throwing tons of ice cubes.

Back in elementary school, Taeyeon remarked saying that she was considered one of the tallest girl in her grade. One of the guests then joked saying “Ah, does that mean you’ve maintained the same height all the way until now?” To which Taeyeon replied saying she’s probably grown at least 2 cm more? She also fought frequently with boys back then, perhaps because she was taller/bigger than them? Girls tend to grow more faster than boys in elementary. Despite her looks, she’s also fought very viciously at times with others (including her brother). She commented saying that she was a ‘Fighter’ back then.

When she was little she would race with the subway trying to outrun with her friends as the subway gets off the station. She thought she could outrun the subway, because you know it starts off slowly until it gains momentum. Like in the beginning Taeng was like yeah!!! then….NOOO!!!

She sleeps with her eyes 2/3 opened.

Being such a shorty as she is, she once complained: “One thing I’m depressed about being short…you know how I’m on stage for recording for shows and stuff? Staff would give me a platform to stand on so I would be as tall as other ppl T_T”

So a few days ago (Monday morning actually), I went out for breakfast with two of my childhood friends after settling some certificate stuff in school.

So while eating, I asked one of them about her business proposal assignment and she told me she was going to do about Popular Bookstores.

Yea, I know. I saw your assignment.

My lecturer let us take a look at it as a sample for us. She said it was a good example. I think it got quite high marks out of 40.

You have no idea how happy I was when she told me that. I mean, to be honest, that assignment caused me so much of problems and we finished it the night before we had to hand it in. I was the editor/leader of the group so I think I had more to worry about compared to the rest.

My group members were all really supportive. All of them came on time to the meetings and all helped to make the assignment happen.

That was really the first time we did an assignment of that scale. We had to plan everything from scratch on how to start up a business here in Kampar. Since the more common themes like entertainment and food were taken, I decided for us to do MHP Bookstores.

That assignment was one of the most rushed ones I ever did, like I said before. Even after I printed the whole thing out, I still found mistakes in them. It was my fault, I didn’t read through it thorough enough before I printed it out. Too lazy and too tired. Haha

I Want....

Don’t worry, I’m not going to rant or complain (at least I think I’m not but I can never be too sure of what is going to happen in my head…haha) again.

Ok, I saw a post made by one of my band seniors (yes, I’m talking about this so if you want to leave, please go ahead) and she said that she hasn’t gotten a lot of ‘how are you’ questions since she moved overseas.

When I was in the band and she was my senior, I can say that I never got the amount of attention that I gave my juniors. The only time when I got it was the first few practice when I learnt how to play scales in under 30minutes. That time, two of my seniors were really proud and started showing me off (cheh wa..haha). I was really happy that time, I made my seniors proud. It’s a really good feeling. They were even talking about letting me join the Independence Day parade which was going to be held in about a month or so. Obviously I didn’t join the parade; I was still too much of a noob to be in the block.

Back to the topic;

After that I tried my best to be noticed but most of the time, it ended up in failure. I joined the band fairly late while my friends (of the same age) joined earlier. Common sense would tell you that they’re most likely closer to the seniors than I will ever be. Plus, they go to the same church so I’m guessing they spend quite a lot of time together too. So how am I to compete with them for attention? I sort of gave up after a few months of trying honestly speaking.

I don’t know why but somehow I felt as though I never lived up to their expectations during practice or the actual performances. Even if I did try my best, somebody else would have shined brighter and I’m casted aside. Still, I admit my limited skills in music and also I lack in many ways when it comes to the instrument and score sheets.

I can never make you feel proud of me again, can I? Ever since the day I learnt the scales, I don’t remember hearing a praise or anything of that sort. Yes, I’m being very DFA mainly because my seniors never paid attention to me T^T. I very sad you know. (haha joking la)

I was jealous of the other sections because they all seemed so close; seniors and juniors getting along well and always playing around, joking with one another. And if we shift our attention to my section, things were very different. There wasn’t a close bond between the members of the section, we were all individuals there. There was no such thing as ‘we are one section therefore we are one’. Sad isn’t it? (haha)

Of course, I was determined to make a difference with this section. Once I got the post of Section Leader and once my 3 little juniors came in, I was determined to make our section into a closely knitted unit. And of course being the usual sakai, siao siao, sampat-ed person I am, it was easy to get them together. Even other members told me that my section, we are always together.

I was really proud of my achievement.

I have this habit, which I’m not sure whether is it bad or not, I tend to give others what I never got. In this case, I never got the attention I wanted so I gave my juniors a lot of attention. Nothing goes unnoticed during practice. I try to be the friendly senior instead of a nasty and mean one stereotypically portrayed on TV. One of my members told my juniors that they were really lucky to be in this section because every other section has their very own senior that scolds a lot whereas ours didn’t. We had crazy, joke-able members and seniors. I rarely scolded them (I will if I was PMS-ing…haha!!), don’t really used really harsh tones on them and more importantly, I was a friend to them, not a senior.

That’s the important part; being a friend. My senior was a senior; I was a senior who was a friend. All formalities were dropped among us. We joked all we wanted, talked about ridiculous things etc. It was really fun going to practice knowing that I have them. I’d play around with them and frankly speaking, I don’t feel tired at all after marching for hours.

It’s hard work being in the band, but I don’t regret joining one bit. Heck, I’m really proud to say that I was a band member. I mean, how many people can say that “I was a band member back in the days”. Not many I can tell you. Haha

This is really long isn’t it? Guess I ended up ranting/complaining after all. I’m sure that during your course of reading this post, you’ll find that this post (esp from the second part onwards) is really SS.
