Fallen

Today, with my new determination to pick up jogging as a new sport/hobby, I woke up at 6.45 to go jogging with my two housemates in a park near my dorm area. We headed out around 7am and jogged/walked (well, I walked, they jogged but we were at the same speed so I decided to just walk) for a few rounds then went back because one of them had classes at 9.

After having breakfast and clean the room a bit, my friend came over to do our part for the assignment and we got it 80% within half an hour (very productive if I can say so myself). Then I downloaded some videos, slept while waiting for it to finish download and woke up to watch it while I ate some new year cookies and drank a cup of Milo (that was my lunch FYI).

Then after lollygagging for a few hours, I set out with another friend to our English class. Everything was fine, the weather was surprisingly not that hot (cloudy actually), my bike was in good condition (got it fixed but it is still noisy) and everything was going well.

That was until…

There is an uphill slope on the way to class and a bridge on that slope. Somehow they closed off one section of the bicycle path and we cyclists have to take to the road and then go up to the bicycle path again. So going from the path to the road was no problem at all (there weren’t many cars at that time). The side curb was a bit high but I felt that I could go over it and return to the path.

Who knew…

The curb was too high and my bike could not go up but instead the front wheel slipped and I fell to my right. It happened really fast and I didn’t really know what to do (it never seems to happen in slow mo like in the movies..haha!).

All I remember was that I used my right hand to help cushion the fall a bit and my palm is bruised now. My arm at little scratches all over (they look like rashes from far). Overall, I wasn’t hurt that bad. My friend was pretty dumbfounded when she saw me fall in front of her.

However, my elbow kind of hurts right now as I’m typing (if I move it too much that is)
