Oh! M. Gee

It’s been a while since teacher told me this one particular line. Actually, it’s been a very long while since I last heard it. I’m not criticizing anyone here, I’m going to clarify that I’m just stating my opinion on this particular matter. So, in any case that you feel offended reading this, I apologise in advance.

Where was I? right, we had a listening test last week. The recording used was really bad if you asked me. It wasn’t clear and the speaker had some sort of an accent. I think it’s a computer generated text. It sounded too professional to have been read by the lecturers. Not that I’m saying the lecturers aren’t good but the American or British accent gives it away. The recording was muffled, as what our lecturer described it to be. We can’t really hear it properly. You can barely make out the words the person is mumbling in the recording, especially in the last text.

The test is 30marks and 15% in total. I got 23/30 making it 11.5/15. It came to me as a surprise when the lecturer said,

‘I think you got the highest in the class’

I was dumbfounded for a moment in front of the class. Unfortunately, my friends overheard it and I couldn’t get away from it for a short while.
‘Wah, you got the highest’

‘See your paper’

‘Wah, your score so high’

I could only say the following words while trying to hide my paper,

‘aniya, aniya’

I replied in Korean but I think they understood what it meant. I’m just not used to it yet. It’s quite hard for me to accept that I’m top cause after being in a class filled with smart people and not being top since primary, it’s quite hard to accept the sudden shift in position.
