Out and About

Yesterday was so tiring that I slept for 4 hours in the afternoon! Which of course, in my opinion, it was really cool because I haven’t done that in a while; and also I was really tired and that 4-hour siesta really helped recharge my dead batteries. In the previous post I was ranting about not getting enough rest and I am very determined to rest to the max this weekend! hahaha!!

Ok, so as some of you might know, I’m now in my first year of University! *clap clap clap clap clap* and I also found out that to be officially accepted, I have to get a medical check-up inclusive of a chest x-ray.

So, I woke up early in the morning though I’m not too sure about the time as I was still really blur from waking up so early in the morning. Anyway, so I woke up to send my mom and sister to school so that I can have the car later on to go for my check up at 8am.

At 8, I drove to Manjung Hospital and to be honest, that place needs more parking lots. Seriously, I was there around 8.20 and there are no lots left! Every lot was taken and it was only 8.20am! I was like ‘My gosh!!! Where to park?!’. In the end, I had to park at the mini field at the far end of the hospital.

Being in the hospital for the first time (alone!), is no wonder I was so blur. The only guide I had was my mom telling me to go to the ‘Klinik Pesakit Luar’ or something like that. But I didn’t see any signboards saying that, only one saying ‘Farmasi Pesakit Luar’ and there was no way I was suppose to go there since don’t people collect their medicine at pharmacies?

Luckily, one of the ladies in the pharmacy was kind enough to direct me to the information counter and from there, another lady directed me to the ‘Bilik Rawatan’. Then from there, the doctor in there told me ‘Dari Sitiawan? Orang Sitiawan buat check-up kat Sitiawan’. I was dumbfounded, why couldn’t I get a check-up there? It totally did not make any sense to me at all! Still, the doctor said I could get the x-ray done there. After hoping from counter to counter, I finally am getting my x-ray done.

And please remind me in the future, not to get anymore chest x-ray. It was so uncomfortable! Fist thing the person said to me when I entered the x-ray room was ‘go change in that room, take off your shirt and your bra and any chains/necklaces and put on the white gown inside’. You can only imagine me, standing there, dumbfounded and shocked from that sentence. Like hello, undress? No way Jose!!!

So reluctantly, I changed into the white gowns and I took a really long time changing because I had trouble tying the straps on the gown ( I swear, I always manage to choose the ones that are faulty) so I decided to choose another but that one was worst! So I changed back into the first one I took and messily tied the straps together behind my back. I think the lady was getting impatient waiting for me because I can hear ‘Teh Zhi Ying, sudah siap ka?!’ in panic, I just answered ‘Coming!!!’

The x-ray went well I guess, I got in done in one try which I think it’s good. After changing back to my normal clothes and collecting my x-ray (which looks like those lung pictures you can find in the Bio book) I went to the Sitiawan clinic.

Then at the Sitiawan clinic, the nurses told me that all the doctors weren’t available cuase they are at a meeting and told me to either go to a private clinic or come back another day. Seriously man!!! What is up?! I was like ‘WTH!!!’ so in the end, I went to Rachel’s dad’s clinic to get everything checked out and trust me, I was so happy when it was over!!!

After the whole check-up ordeal was over, I went to get a haircut. It was my first time going on my own but I already have specific instructions from my mom not to cut it short but just to trim off the ends a bit.

After that, I went to take passport-sized photographs for U use. Again, my first time going alone and it was really fast! The wonders of technology! But no matter how advance the camera or the computer is, my face is still as sampat-ed as always then the pictures come out. *shakes head* some things just won’t change. *haiz..*

So after that, I went to the shop that sells cookies near Crystal Hotel and helped my mom buy 2kg worth of pineapple jam because she’s going to start making CNY cookies on Sunday! *woohooo!!!* Pineapple tarts for the win!!

And my final task for the morning was to go pick up my mom and sister from school and go for lunch.

Pretty busy, huh? I was out from 8am until 2pm. no wonder I slept for such a long time. haha
