Days Without Internet

A genius decided that it would be both fun and profitable to steal the phone line cables and voila, he did and the phone line and internet got cut for a couple of days. Though I can understand as to why he/she/they did it, but still how could he/she/they do that?! That’s totally unethical whatsoever!

Anyway, back to the topic. These few days I had experience the pure bliss and joy of teaching Maths, Add Maths to be exact. Oh the joy in seeing your student understanding the concepts and doing the exercises given like a pro, brings unexplainable joy and satisfaction to the teacher’s heart.

Of course you can sense the amount of sarcasm I put in to the previous paragraph. Being a teacher is no fun if your student doesn’t understand the simplest of concepts and also fight/argue with you with every trivial thing the student comes across. Stubborn students are the worst kind. They stubbornly defend their point of view even though it is clearly wrong and also will not accept the answers/reasons you give them. They will keep questioning the teacher until they are satisfied that the teacher accept their answer.

Tiring, isn’t it? I am so glad I abandoned my ambition to be a teacher years ago.

Strength in Numbers

The strength in Girls' Generation would have to be, cause there’s 9 girls of course, and umm, we’ve practiced together for a really long time so we have umm good chemistry and strong team work and I have to say that that is the firm foundation for our group and not to mention really really supportive, passionate fans all over the world.

There's Nothing Left To Say

AHCHOO!!!

A sneeze resonated in a small room as a shorty sat at her desk, sniffing, trying to read her Law book.

This is not working, Law is just not my thing, and this flu is not making things easier.

The shorty gave up her third attempt of the day to read her Law book and went to ransack her hard drive files for songs to listen to.

Nope, nope, heard that one too many times, nope. Oh gosh this is hopeless!

Giving up the search for songs in her file, she turned to her CDs to help ease her boredom.

다시 만난 세계! My life savour!

She quickly opened the pink album and popped the first disc into the disk drive. Then she went off to YT to load an old series which she had re-watched for who-knows how many times.

Alright, I’ll listen to the CD and then watch one episode, then, I’m off to bed!

AHCHOO!

The sneeze continued for another few times up to the point when she finally stopped sneezing, her eyes were watery and she can barely open them.

I HATE flu! AHCHOO!!

Fetching a cup of OJ as substitute for water, she sat back down at her desk and began to type something on Word when she felt something trickling down her nostril.

Aish, this is worst than having nosebleeds.

The shorty ran towards the tissue and grabbed a piece and stuffed it up her nose.

Much better, might as well leave it there until it stops dripping.

~a few hours ago~

Girl, are you sick? You sound sick.

No, I’m not. I’m just a bit nasal today. *cough*

Yea right. you’re sick.

No I’m not.

Yes you are.

Am not.

Fine, you’re not.

Two girls sat down in a restaurant when the latter questioned the shorty again.

I told you, I’m not sick. Just a bit nasal today.

The latter gave her a ‘mm hmm’ look and ordered her food.

~after dinner~

Ok fine, I’m sick. Only a genius like me gets sick one week before Chinese New Year.

You better take better care of yourself!

Don’t worry, I have everything under control.

The shorty pointed at her newly bought Peel Fresh OJ.

I got orange juice! I’ll be fine! *nervous laugh*

En na! take care ya! Nights.

Nights.

AHCOO! x3

Aish, I’m going to sneeze my nose off at this rate.

I never needed you to be strong I never needed you for pointing out my wrongs

ooh!! Hush Hush!! *starts lip syncing*

Huat ar!

AH!!!!!!

This cannot be happening to me?!!!!

I feel awful and just terrible! My throat is dry and it is definitely red and blotchy, as Rachel’s dad would describe it every time I visit. I got a minor case of blocked nose.

OH. MY. GOODNESS.

I’m getting sick?!

NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t wanna get sick before the New Year!

What’s the point of having CNY if I’m sick?

For one thing, I can’t eat all the food I want! (ShikSHin alert!) fried food and all those ‘hot’ food are definitely a big no no. (I want to eat!! LOL I think Kampar food is starting to get to me..haha)

I think I experienced this before either last semester or two sems ago. I remember chucking down loads of water and visiting the toilet very often back then.

Guess that’s the only way, huh? I’m going to get myself a big carton of Peel Fresh later to stock up on Vitamin C. My supply of fruits went dry last Friday when I finished the last apple.

Why are you unusually laughing like that today?
Is it that person I introduced you to?
That happy man that makes you laugh

Why are you looking unusually sad today?
I’ve been laughing like this for an hour already
Don’t frown I’m really worried

I spent so much time with you
Do you still not know?
You still don’t know me..

Is there any such a fool?
Don’t you know yet?
I’m standing with my two arms wide open

Where are you going with that fast-paced walk?
I want to walk a little bit slower
This special time I’m spending with you
I don’t want it to go quickly

Where are you trying to go with that slow-paced walk?
I want to go visit more places
I only get to see you once a week
Please hurry

I spent so much time with you
Do you still not know?
You still don’t know me..

Is there any such a fool?
Don’t you know yet?
Open your arms and..

It must be so
It must have always been like this
We always stood together
And but looked in different directions

I’m always looking in one direction
But you aren’t aware
Can’t you see me

I spent so much time with you
Do you still not know?
You still don’t know me..
Is there any such a fool
Don’t you know yet?
I’m standing with my two arms wide open

Trip

I just got back from KL yesterday and it was really fun! For one thing, this trip was a little different than the other trips I had had to KL last year in the sense that Kristie came with us this round. I offered her to come along and my friends were ok with it and so did she. We ended up laughing a lot and having a blast!

Though I have to say, the train ride to KL was pretty boring seeing how we haven’t really woken up yet and the ice between Kristie and my classmates wasn’t fully broken yet. Still, we made it to KL with minimal hassle.

When we reached our stop, KL Sentral, we kinda got lost for a bit seeing how it was our first times there. We went up and down before asking a police there how to get to the Monorail station. After walking, crossing the road, queuing up for the tickets, squeezing into the train, we made it to Jln Imbi a.k.a. where Times Square is.

First things first, looking for the toilet. You have no idea how long the line was! There was like more than 10 ladies lining up. Next on the agenda, lunch! I cannot live without food! Haha We opt to eat at Wendy’s since everybody, except Kristie, had not tried it before. The burger was huge! One thing different about their burgers and Mcd’s, their burgers get bigger as we order bigger sets (large, medium, small) and their fries was different form mcd’s as well; they’re fatter(??) bigger to put it in a way.

So after everybody was fully stuffed with food, shopping started! But to be honest I’m not the the shopping type of person and according to Yun Zhen (my ex-foundation classmate), now we know how guys feel when they take their girls out shopping and they just walk around idly while the girls shop. It was boring, I won’t lie, but the people make up for it. We had fun just going into random shops and looking at the funny prints on t-shirts. There was a shirt with a picture of a saxophone hanging from a strap, making it look like it was hanging on your neck. I really wanted to get that, but it was too big!! T^T

Some were on a shoe shopping mission, others were shopping for clothing. I was shopping for CDs (as usual, that’s about the only thing I shop for). I had high confidence that I could find it in MyStar Collection (a shop that I can label it as my paradise. It sells almost any album and collectable item). So I saw Hoot, The Third Mini Album and Into the New World, Girls’ Generation the 1st Asia Tour. Which to get?!! Ottoke?!!

After walking for hours in Times Square, we decided to head over to Plaza Sg. Wang which is just across the road. When we reach there, some of us (me included) were already complaining of sore feet and wanted to have a sit. After grumbling for a while, we still continued walking as Kristie and I ventured into F.O.S. with the rest of the gang following behind.

It was there when I saw a hat (yes, a hat. I’m quite a hat fanatic just so you know). I’ve always wanted a hat like that, I think it’s called a fedora but I’m not really sure. I totally loved it! It had a white base with black stripes all over it. I took that and tried it on first and my friends said I look good wearing that. The price was around 30 so I contemplated on buying it. I tried other hats but none fit better than that first one. I walked out of that store empty handed.

We went to the first floor to look at shoes but quickly scrambled back down to the ground floor and headed towards mcd to find a place to sit and order a drink. Kristie looked for the seat while I ordered. After sitting around for a while, Zhong came to meet up with us. He went to order his food and after a while, I went back to F.O.S. to get that hat! Saturday is ‘no plastic bag’ day for F.O.S. but I didn’t need one. Just paid for it and walk out towards mcd with the hat in hand. Easy. Took off the price tag and on my head it went. That’s the thing about me, whenever I get a new hat/cap, I will automatically wear it until I have to bathe or go to sleep. I can wear a hat for a whole day.

My classmates came to join us for a while and then went off again to look around and that’s when Richard and Sien Son came looking for us. After sitting for a while, we went back to Times Square to a café called Food and Tea Hong Kong only to realize there was also a branch in Sg. Wang. The food there was awesome! The cheese baked rice with chicken was mouth watering! A thick layer of cheese on top of the chicken and a generous serving of rice was more than enough for me; I didn’t even finish the rice!

After dinner, we walked around for a bit and then met up with my classmates to go to the Monorail station and head back to KL Sentral and go back to Kampar. Everybody came along and it was a miracle that all 9 (yes, 9, my new fav number! LOL) managed to cramp into the monorail before the door closes. It was SO packed in there! I only had two concerns; 1. Did everybody manage to get in? 2. My poster!!

Being squeezed worst than sardines in a can, I had to make sure my poster was well protected so I lifted it up and I sort of felt like the Statue of Liberty holding it up in the train. Richard commented ‘Zhi, you really protect that poster with all your might.’ Of course! It’s my precious poster after all, this would be the 3rd time I carried a poster for the whole day and went back home with it in perfect condition.

Zhong got off after one stop (Hang Tuah) while the rest of us went all the way to KL Sentral. We separated there as Richard and Sien Son went to the LRT while we went to the Intercity Train platform. After scrambling here and there, we made it on the train safely and the journey back started.

It wasn’t as uneventful as the journey to KL though, we talked and chatted about the events that took place earlier and talked about childhood games and what-not. It was hilarious thinking back on the silly games we played and it never seemed to bore us out when we were little. Then Yun Zhen suddenly mentioned using a handkerchief and folding it into a bra shape. I totally forgot about that! After a quick demonstration, everything came back.

2hours on the train went by quickly with us talking non-stop and we reached Kampar around midnight. Never once we were so happy to reach Kampar. We were tired, stinky and our bodies ached from walking all day.

So KL is done, where to next? =]

YEA!

I finally got my timetable! At last! I’m telling you, waiting for timetables is not fun at all.

I went to campus early yesterday around 9am to get that timetable and the office told me that

‘I’m sorry but it’s not out yet. Why don’t you go choose one of the timetables on the board and use it temporarily until your real timetable comes out, and fill in this form and pass it back to me.’

I cannot believe my ears, but never mind, so I picked one and then went to town with a few friends to get the PIN for MUET and PTPTN. The people in the bank are really nice and friendly, to my surprise.

Then we went back to campus and hung out in the library for a while then walked around to settle some payments then we’re off to our first class of the day, which started at 4pm.
It was English class and our lecturer is, I’ll tell you more when I see you guys or when you guys ask because it’s kinda hard to explain in words. hahaa

Tissues Needed

Over the years, growing up, I’ve watched my fair share of movies, cartoons etc. (I sound so old right? haha) there were ones that made me laugh till I can’t breathe, ones that made me so angry till I wanted to jump into the screen and solve things out, and there was also one that made me shed tears. Yes, even I can cry watching movies. Don’t believe me?

I think the very first movie that I cried watching was Pokemon, The First Movie. Weird, huh? I think I was only 7 when I first watched that. Still can’t believe it though. I must be a real Pokemon lover to cry watching that show! Hahaha!!

Then came other animes like Graveyard of the Fireflies. I watched it once when I was 13 and felt nothing. I re-watched it 3 years later and gave up after half an hour. I couldn’t take it anymore.

There were others, like those anime directors that had to kill my favourite characters in the show. All the good looking characters ended up dead, which I think is really unfair and pointless since that is one of the reasons why I watch the show in the first place! (LOL!!!!!)

I think I start to appreciate movies more as I grow up. I’m starting to be quite the movie-goer now and its fun and interesting watching movies, whether it’s watching it at home or in the theatres.

Money Not Enough 2, Toy Story 3, Charlie St. Cloud, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the list goes on =]

***

This post is so random right? Well, I am writing this after watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, beautiful love story that movie was. Kinda sad too towards the end.

See you guys next post!
