Wondering how Gee is related to the title? Rather simple actually. I first got to know the song a few days before I went on a camping trip there. Perhaps it’s not related after all but listening to Gee somehow reminds me of the trip there during the first few days of June.
I can still remember how I would sing ‘gee gee gee gee’ and the others wil continue ‘baby baby baby’. We would sing it all day long if we could remember the lyrics.
It was fun. I loved that trip. Though unnecessary tears got in the way but the trip was worth it.
I remember how we were chatting on the bus on our ride back to IJ from Ringlet. Playing Concentration and ‘Tuki-Tuki’(I don’t know the real name of the game).
We played, laughed and sweated our way through the 3 days there. I enjoyed my time spent with all of you as I know these are precious memories money can’t buy. Not in an eternity would I have chosen to skip that trip. I do miss those days dearly. Days which I will never get back no matter how much I wanted it.
In the middle of the night, all of us, the seniors of the group, had a discussion which lasted until around 3am. A heated discussion about the group’s well being. Arrows were shot, members were bombarded with all sorts of accuses and claims. Members were left speechless as a big part of the ‘arrow’s were targeted at them. I didn’t particularly feel bad for shooting so many ‘arrows’, it somehow was very burden leaving in a way. I hope you understand what I’m trying to say. I’m not quite good at expressing myself with words.
During those 3 days, we walked and walked and walked all around town. Walking towards a field which we spent most of our time there. Counting 1, 2, 3, 4 and so on. Like kindergarteners beginning to learn how to count. Holding onto pieces of papers which were somehow like treasure maps to us, leading us the way to our next destination marked. Each of us had a different destination. If we all worked together, the treasure could be found quickly. Lucky for us, it took us exactly 3 days to complete it.
Time like these are what I missed most about you guys. Now, I’m sure you guys are doing a pretty good job as our successors.
