Random Finding

a quick post and i'm saying bye-bye for a week. (really busy T^T)

so i came across this song quite by accident and i'm liking it a lot =]

Come Play by Loveholic

This tired afternoon is no fun at all
I dont feel like talking about business
I’m sick of work and it is getting miserable.
what exactly is life?
This lazy dawn, I’m lonely being single
Nobody is looking for me
I’m just a speck of dust in this large universe
what am I doing? I cant help but think

Call me, hurry and call me
Call me with this and that
Let’s at least laugh together
Or just come and play, just come and play
No matter where, I am next to you
I love you forever
Just like a shining spring
I love you forever,
Don’t make this difficult
I love you forever
Just like a happy Christmas
I love you forever
Don’t make it too serious

This rainy night makes me cry
Although there is someone that I’m interested in
To that person, I don’t even exist to that person
when I get thinking, “What is love?”

Call me, hurry and call me
Call me with this and that
Let’s at least laugh together
Or just come and play, just come and play
No matter where, I am next to you
I love you forever
Just like a shining spring
I love you forever,
Don’t make this difficult
I love you forever
Just like a happy Christmas
One day we will be happy
Flowers bloom even in harsh soil

I love you forever
Just like a shining spring
I love you forever,
Don’t make this difficult
I love you forever
Just like a happy Christmas
I love you forever
Don’t make it too serious
I love you forever
Just like a shining spring
I love you forever,
Don’t make this difficult
I love you forever
Just like a happy Christmas
I love you forever
Don’t make it too serious

I love you like happy springtime, I love you like a happy Christmas

Fallen

Today, with my new determination to pick up jogging as a new sport/hobby, I woke up at 6.45 to go jogging with my two housemates in a park near my dorm area. We headed out around 7am and jogged/walked (well, I walked, they jogged but we were at the same speed so I decided to just walk) for a few rounds then went back because one of them had classes at 9.

After having breakfast and clean the room a bit, my friend came over to do our part for the assignment and we got it 80% within half an hour (very productive if I can say so myself). Then I downloaded some videos, slept while waiting for it to finish download and woke up to watch it while I ate some new year cookies and drank a cup of Milo (that was my lunch FYI).

Then after lollygagging for a few hours, I set out with another friend to our English class. Everything was fine, the weather was surprisingly not that hot (cloudy actually), my bike was in good condition (got it fixed but it is still noisy) and everything was going well.

That was until…

There is an uphill slope on the way to class and a bridge on that slope. Somehow they closed off one section of the bicycle path and we cyclists have to take to the road and then go up to the bicycle path again. So going from the path to the road was no problem at all (there weren’t many cars at that time). The side curb was a bit high but I felt that I could go over it and return to the path.

Who knew…

The curb was too high and my bike could not go up but instead the front wheel slipped and I fell to my right. It happened really fast and I didn’t really know what to do (it never seems to happen in slow mo like in the movies..haha!).

All I remember was that I used my right hand to help cushion the fall a bit and my palm is bruised now. My arm at little scratches all over (they look like rashes from far). Overall, I wasn’t hurt that bad. My friend was pretty dumbfounded when she saw me fall in front of her.

However, my elbow kind of hurts right now as I’m typing (if I move it too much that is)

Cousin

I still remember when I was in secondary school; my cousin would come over once in a while and crash in our house, most of the time in my room. She was working for TNB at that time and sometimes came to Sitiawan to go to the power plant in Manjung for a week or so.

Usually before she came, you can see me scrambling around the house getting everything prepared for her (since she’ll be crashing with me). If you know me well enough, you would know that most of the time, my room is in a BIG mess. Cleaning and tidying up takes forever but I got there in the end.

I had to wash the toilet, get the extra mattress, pillows, bed sheets, pillow cover etc out from the cupboard (extra mattress is under my bed), set up everything and made sure it was clean and tidy. I even vacuumed the mattress because it had been under my bed for a really long time (just to clarify, she slept on my bed while I was on the extra mattress=] )

My desk had to be cleared because my stuff was just all over the table top. Stationery, books, trinkets etc. I even took the liberty of placing an extra roll of toilet paper in the table just in case the current roll in the toilet ran out. Toiletries were checked, toothpaste, shampoo etc were all in place. (Yes, I was really excited that my cousin was coming to crash for a few nights)

During one of her stay here, I was in the afternoon session so she took me out for breakfast before dropping me at Mr Patrick’s English class and she went off to work. It was really fun going out with her (with reference to all the posts I said about wanting to have an older sister).

There was once when she took me and my sister out to dinner and we had a blast talking and laughing while we ate. She told us stories of her scholarship interview and it was hilarious! Then, a few days later, we took her to the pool and taught her how to swim (express lessons since she was only with us for a few days).

It was fun.

Lanterns on the 15th

So how was your Chap Goh Meh dinner last night? Bet it was way better than what I had for dinner. Yes I’m still not over the fact that I had economic rice for dinner on Chap Goh Meh. Partly because my mom would always cook a feast for dinner on that night so eating like this takes time to adjust.

Yesterday was also the first time I’ve seen a Kong Ming Deng (sky latern) up close and also lit one and set it up to the sky. It was really fun!

We planned to gather at a friend’s place at 9pm but it started to drizzle so we pushed it ten minutes later as the rain was just a sprinkle. So 8 of us gathered at rendezvous point on time except one. We waited, called, sms-ed and even went to her place to get her but she couldn’t be reached. In between, we joked and laughed because it has been way too long since the last time all of us gathered like that. I even got chased on foot by one of them because I called her short.

Half an hour and lots of sweat later, we gave up waiting and went to the open area to light up our lantern. First we opened it and spread it on the ground while using some newspaper as a mat for it. Then we all wrote our wishes on it, in Chinese! The horror! Most of them wrote in Chinese and their handwriting is really nice!

The few of us (who are bananas) wrote in English. I wrote ‘我 郑芷颖, wish everyone a happy & peaceful life’.

Lighting the lantern was nerve wrecking because we were so afraid of it not being able to take off into the sky (another group’s lantern didn’t go up but instead went down to the lake) and we’re also worried that the lantern would be burnt before it could take off. Another reason why we were so worried was because our lantern had 2 holes in it and we fixed it cello tape.

So cautiously, we lit it and allowed the hot air to stabilize and inflate the lantern. We were hesitating whether to let it go because there was no wind to help it go up that time and the lantern looks really unstable.

But somehow; in the middle of all the ‘eh, not yet!’ and ‘wait for a while’, the lantern seemed to be fed up of us being so noisy and took off on its own. Obviously, we were dumbfounded but also were really happy that it took off well and went straight for the sky.

We were the last of the many groups there to light up the lantern and everybody stared at it as it kept going up and up. It was really nerve wrecking watching it go as well. I don’t know why, but the lantern was rocking left and right as it went up. We (more like I) shrieked every time it rocked in fear of the fire burning it.

After that, we went for a drink and chit chat until around 11.30pm before going back to our dorm.

This morning, most of us had 8am class and it was Law of all subjects! Can you imagine how hard it was to keep awake in a 2hour Law lecture when you slept late the night before and the subject is boring in nature? HAHAHA!!

Problem?

Seriously, I don’t know what her problem is or if she doesn’t like hanging out with us or anything like that, but her face is really very annoying to look at.

For those who are wondering, I’m referring to one of my friends (coughhousematecough).

I really don’t know what is her problem; she’s like so emo whenever we go out for meals etc. she has that ‘I’m-in-a-really-bad-mood-now-so-don’t-talk-to-me’ look on her face practically every time we go out! And it is really starting to get on my nerves.

And when we do go out (not that we do very often anyway), she would be talking to her family members and leaving the rest of us out and it’ll be just the 3of them engrossed in a conversation and the rest of us we’ll be sitting at the other end of the table talking among ourselves. And if she’s out on her own without her family members, she would be so emo and just sit there with her food and eat in silence. What is wrong with her man?!

I don’t want to ask what’s going on because I know it’s not my place to do so. She’s been like that for goodness-how long already.

Can you believe I had economic rice for dinner on chap goh meh? My holiday mood just went down the drain..

It’s now about a month in to our first year in Bachelors Degree and my housemates and I are really drifting apart. Not that I haven’t seen this coming, I just didn’t expect it to happen so easily. Haha

We seldom see one another anymore, rarely have dinners together, rarely sit around the table outside my room and just talk crap. The last time we did that was around a year ago during our first semester in Foundation. After that, we all got too busy to do that anymore.

So seeing how today is the last day of CNY, I’ve made it a point that we all have dinner together despite our classes ending at different times, with mine being the latest at 6.30pm. so we’re going out at 7.
