I still remember when I was in secondary school; my cousin would come over once in a while and crash in our house, most of the time in my room. She was working for TNB at that time and sometimes came to Sitiawan to go to the power plant in Manjung for a week or so.
Usually before she came, you can see me scrambling around the house getting everything prepared for her (since she’ll be crashing with me). If you know me well enough, you would know that most of the time, my room is in a BIG mess. Cleaning and tidying up takes forever but I got there in the end.
I had to wash the toilet, get the extra mattress, pillows, bed sheets, pillow cover etc out from the cupboard (extra mattress is under my bed), set up everything and made sure it was clean and tidy. I even vacuumed the mattress because it had been under my bed for a really long time (just to clarify, she slept on my bed while I was on the extra mattress=] )
My desk had to be cleared because my stuff was just all over the table top. Stationery, books, trinkets etc. I even took the liberty of placing an extra roll of toilet paper in the table just in case the current roll in the toilet ran out. Toiletries were checked, toothpaste, shampoo etc were all in place. (Yes, I was really excited that my cousin was coming to crash for a few nights)
During one of her stay here, I was in the afternoon session so she took me out for breakfast before dropping me at Mr Patrick’s English class and she went off to work. It was really fun going out with her (with reference to all the posts I said about wanting to have an older sister).
There was once when she took me and my sister out to dinner and we had a blast talking and laughing while we ate. She told us stories of her scholarship interview and it was hilarious! Then, a few days later, we took her to the pool and taught her how to swim (express lessons since she was only with us for a few days).
It was fun.
